The project titled “Technical Support for Conducting IYCF Training” was implemented in the Dhankuta and Khotang districts, with the Nutrition Section of the Child Health Division, DoHS, as the client. The lead firm provided services valued at Rs. 40,00,000.00 (excluding VAT), funded by the Government of Nepal. The consultancy assignment took place during FY 2069/070, beginning on January 19, 2071, and concluding on March 13, 2071.
The project’s main objective was to offer technical support to the District Health Offices in Dhankuta and Khotang for the conduct of various training activities related to Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF). These activities included conducting a District Planning meeting, District Training of Trainers (ToT), health worker training, VHW/MCHW Training, FCHV Training, and capacity building on WASH as a cross-cutting theme. Additionally, the firm was responsible for efficiently managing the logistics for these training sessions.
The services provided by the firm included conducting the District Planning & DDC Orientation, ToT in both districts, health worker training in both districts, FCHV training in both districts, and the development and facilitation of separate WASH sessions in the training manuals. These sessions focused on critical aspects such as handwashing at key times, practical handwashing sessions, latrine use, and proper handling and purification of drinking water. The firm demonstrated effective and efficient logistics management throughout the project’s duration.
